Driving Change: Africa’s First Autism Charity Golf Classic Tees Off in Nairobi

Despite challenging weather conditions, golfers, partners, and supporters showed up with one shared purpose — to stand with children living with autism.

On 6th March 2026, Vijana Na Taifa (VNT) proudly hosted the Raise for Autism Charity Golf Classic at the prestigious Muthaiga Golf Club, Nairobi, Kenya — marking a first-of-its-kind event in Kenya and across Africa, where golf meets awareness and fundraising for autism.

More Than a Game — A Movement

This was not just a tournament. It was a bold step towards inclusion, dignity, and action.

Across Kenya, many children living with autism face limited access to therapy, lack of specialized support, and social stigma. For many families, therapy remains unaffordable — forcing some to keep children hidden at home, away from opportunities to learn and thrive.

The Raise for Autism Campaign is changing that narrative.

A Day of Purpose, Passion, and Play

From the first swing to the final putt, the course came alive with energy and purpose. Golfers played not just for competition, but for impact — each shot carrying a message of hope.

Even the rain could not hold back the spirit of the day. If anything, it made the commitment stronger.

This was golf with heart. Golf with purpose. Golf for change.

Driving Real Impact

Proceeds from the tournament will go towards:

• Assistive devices for children with autism

• Therapy equipment and learning materials

• Renovation of the autism unit at Salama Primary School, Huruma

• Supporting salaries for two caregivers and one teacher in a special needs class that urgently requires support

This means more children will access therapy, more families will find support, and more lives will be transformed.
